ESTA International Awarded ADMS Advisory Project for AboitizPower
ESTA International has been awarded an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) advisory project for AboitizPower and four participating utilities within AboitizPower’s distribution group: Davao Light, Visayan Electric, Cotabato Light, and Subic EnerZone.
ESTA will provide a structured, vendor-neutral advisory program to help AboitizPower establish the technical, operational, and organizational foundation for a future ADMS.
The initiative supports AboitizPower’s broader distribution modernization objectives, including improved reliability, greater operational efficiency, stronger system resilience, and readiness for increasing levels of distribution automation, distributed energy resources, battery energy storage, and electric vehicle integration.
The work will include assessing current systems and operational capabilities, identifying and prioritizing potential ADMS applications, defining business and technical requirements, evaluating technology readiness, and developing a future-state architecture, a phased implementation roadmap, and technical specifications for a modern ADMS.
The engagement will also address factors that are critical to a successful ADMS program, including network-model readiness, enterprise and operational technology integration, data governance, cybersecurity, organizational readiness, and long-term resource requirements. Together, the resulting roadmap, recommendations, and technical specifications will give AboitizPower a sound foundation for future procurement and implementation decisions.
Each participating utility has distinct network characteristics, operational priorities, and modernization needs. ESTA’s approach will balance these individual requirements with opportunities to establish common standards, architecture, and governance across the AboitizPower distribution utility group.
The project draws on ESTA’s experience supporting ADMS, Distribution Management System, Outage Management System, Distributed Energy Resource Management System, and control-center modernization initiatives in the Philippines and internationally.
Through this engagement, ESTA will help AboitizPower translate its distribution modernization objectives into a coordinated path forward across the participating utilities, positioning them to advance toward more intelligent, automated, and integrated distribution operations.
