This includes power systems research and development, electric utility operations and planning, participation as project manager and/or subject matter expert in numerous utility control system and smart grid projects, and associated teaching and training.

  • Design, Specification, Bid Evaluation, Implementation, and Testing of SCADA, EMS, DMS, OMS, and DTS Systems (including specialist knowledge of their Generation, Network Analysis, and Simulation Functions)

  • Technologies specific to Substation Automation, Distribution Automation, Distributed Energy Resources, Microgrids, and Advanced Metering Infrastructures

  • System Integration

  • Cyber Security measures and standards

  • Synchrophasor and WAMS Technology

  • International competitive bidding practices and bid evaluation methodologies
     

Within this context, Dr. Wasley has completed many current and future technology assessment studies, including Gap and Cost/Benefit Analyses, aimed at the procurement of new systems and devices with enhanced capabilities and features leading to operational improvements and future-proofing. He has also conducted corresponding seminars and workshops.
