Mr. Reza Alaghehband is an Executive Consultant with over 38 years of experience in all aspects of electric utility real-time operations.  Reza has a full knowledge of power plants, power plant operations, and control systems.  His experience includes Energy Management Systems (EMS), Transmission Management Systems (TMS), Distribution Management Systems (DMS), and Generation Management Systems (GMS) and deep knowledge of industry vendor product offerings. In addition, he also has experience with Independent System Operators (ISO) including ERCOT, NERC CIP compliance, and ISO 9001Quality Management System (QMS).  He is an active contributor to DOE on new technologies focused on power production, transmission, and distribution and DistribuTECH conference in the areas of Distribution Automation, Smart Cities, and Disaster Management.

Prior to joining ESTA International, he was responsible for Austin Energy’s Control Engineering and Energy and Market Operations for 32 years. Prior to Austin Energy, he worked for ABB (now Hitachi Energy) and Harris Controls (now GE).   Reza has been a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas since 1992, and an IEEE PES Senior member.
