Areas Of Expertise

Mr. William Randle has expert knowledge in automated measurement, monitoring, and control systems for both the electric grid and power plants. He worked at American Electric Power (AEP) Company for 28 years prior to taking early retirement in 2008.  Since then, he has completed several consulting assignments related to the electric grid. As part of current duties, Mr. Randle administers the CrossBow Intermediate System from RuggedCom / Siemens that is used by AEP Transmission for CIP compliance.

 

His last position at AEP was as the Managing Director, Asset Management, in the Commercial Operations Business Unit where he had P&L responsibility for multiple independent power plants.

 

During his career at AEP, Mr. Randle’s responsibilities also included:  SCADA and other real time T&D system software development; Lead instrumentation and controls engineer; Project manager of AEP’s first Office Automation system; Director of  Measurement and Customer Support Group with oversight for 200 person work force charged with metering the entire AEP system; Managing Director and developer of AEP’s retail energy information services business (Datapult sold in 2000); Oversight for AEP’s  technology investment portfolio; Managing Partner for Sweeny Cogeneration Limited Partnership, co-owned by AEP and GE Capital; Transactional lead for sale of 2 active IPP cogeneration plants and 5 retired gas plants.
