Areas Of Expertise
Mr. Spandan Gandhi’s primary areas of focus includes energy data analysis, load forecasting using machine learning (ML), and solar energy. In addition, he has experience in building energy efficiency modeling, renewable energy financing, and web tool design.
Mr. Spandan has participated in several projects related to cost-benefit analysis and forecasting while at ESTA. He developed a ML model to forecast load demand and estimate net load reduction in response to a client’s Conservation Voltage Optimization program. He has assisted in the cost-benefit analysis for updating an ADMS platform that provided business case for asset optimization, improved reliability, integration of distributed energy resources and other related operational improvements.
Mr. Spandan has also developed intellectual property while at ESTA. He designed a web-based software to implement a ML-based load forecasting model and conduct CVO analysis that has been effectively used. Currently, he is working on developing a cost-benefit analysis tool, which computes the total cost of ownership for the utility-based projects and weighs them against the monetary and other benefits to the utility and customers.
